In this his first solo exhibit, Seb Chua shows an astonishing array of sculptures in various media and a suite of paintings, a truly prodigious output from a couple of years’ work. The wealth of artistic imagination, the pursuit of excellence, and the lofty goals at the very foundation of his art practice, Chua has amply proved that artists can indeed shine even after making a living in another profession so long as they are armed with the passion and the mission to sail forth, create meaningful art, and ultimately attain what they have originally set out for art’s greater glory.

His cast sculptures, in bronze, marble and brass, are a sight to behold, both in concept and execution, impeccably conceived renderings of the figure with its manifold range of feelings and emotions, not to mention perspectives. The paintings, too, are particularly magical and luminous for the wondrous moods they evoke, the many varied reactions they elicit, and the child-like derring-do of their imagery. “Fractal Vision” is a first show that signals the auspicious arrival of an innovative, truly dedicated talent in the local art world.
